Roverto vs. Riva del Garda. I had thought about spending a few days in Riva del Garda and seeing some of the villages and sights around the lake at the upper end of Lake Garda. To get there from Milan or Genoa I can take a train to Roverto and then a bus for 39 minutes to Riva. It might be cheaper to stay in Roverto and just do day trips to Riva del Garda was an idyllic spot. Next time we would consider staying in Riva del Garda as it was definitely our favourite place on the trip. If you are visiting Lake Garda with kids, Riva del Garda is an ideal spot because there is so much space for them to run around and explore – plus fresh air and lots of activities. No matter if you go to the closeby Bardolino, to Salò on the Lombardy side or maybe to Riva del Garda, on the short Trentino coastline, the experience will be just as pleasant.
